Ronaldinho
Club – Barcelona (2005-06)
In December 2005, Ronaldinho was named FIFA’s World Player of the year for the second consecutive year. Barcelona crashed out of the champions league in February 2005 as they lost to Chelsea, however during the 2005-06 season campaign, Ronaldinho avenged the defeat as Barcelona this time defeated Chelsea in the second round and they went on to the final defeating fellow English club, Arsenal, 2-1 in the final. Ronaldinho has certainly helped Barcelona with their Champions league success and domestic football success.

Carlos Puyol
Club – Barcelona (2005-06)
Carlos Puyol is one of the most improved players in Spanish football. Arguably one of the best defenders in the history of Spanish football. He has been a rock at the back of the Barcelona starting line up and he returned home from the 2002 world cup as a hero. Despite moving from his right back position into centre back, he was extremely consistent for Barcelona during the 2005-06 Champions league campaign as he helped them win the final against Arsenal.

Philip Cocu
Club- PSV Eindhoven (2005-06)
One of the most technically gifted and versatile midfielder’s in the world, Cocu is an amazing passer of the ball, who scores and controls matches from deep. He was outstanding during PSV Eindhoven’s amazing champions league campaign of the 2005-06 season. He helped them reach the semi finals and in the same year he helped his club to the league and cup double. Before moving to Eindhoven, he had a six year spell playing for Barcelona.
