Jerzy Dudek
Clubs – Liverpool (2004-05)
Dudek signed for Liverpool in 2001 for £4.8 million however despite many blunders in goal, the signing proved to be worth every penny. It took Dudek time to settle into the premiership, he came to the fore during the 2003 League Cup final as he made a string of heroic saves against Manchester united in the league cup final. However he struggled to hold a first team place much of the remainder of his career at the Reds. His finest game in goal for Liverpool came during the 2005 Champions league cup final against AC Milan. He made a string of fantastic saves during the 90 minutes and during extra time he made an unbelievable double save from a wonderful Andriy Shevchenko shot. His menacing presence in goal resulted in Milan missing two of their penalties in the shoot out and he became an Anfield legend after that.

During his time so far, he has cost his clubs around £70 million in transfer fees alone. Crespo is one of the most natural finishers in the game. He helped AC Milan to reach the final of the lucrative champions league competition in May 2005; however they lost the final to Liverpool on penalties.
